Nophto is a platform dedicated to the art of photography in its most authentic form. In an age where images are generated even without light, without human presence or without intent, we desire to reaffirm the essence of photography as a human creative act.

We stand as a platform for photographers living and working in Romania, both established artists and emerging voices. Nophto is both an archive, a launchpad, a dialogue and a bridge that connects generations, fosters exchange, and brings the art of photography closer to the public. Our main focus is to publish individual portfolios, interview artists working with photography and set a stage for those pushing its boundaries. We also document the evolution of the medium, thus offering resources for art historians about contemporary photography from Romania.

Our mission is to elevate artistic photography from Romania and to create a home for visual storytelling.
